Actor Anant Joshi, known for his versatile roles in Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and 12th Fail, has made a bold transformation for his next project — Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi. To authentically portray Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Joshi has gone completely bald, marking a major physical and emotional commitment to the role. He has a completely new appearance, going entirely bald to embody the spiritual leader.
“It was not an easy decision,” Joshi admitted. “I’ve been emotionally attached to my hair all my life. Losing it wasn’t just a cosmetic change — it was letting go of a part of myself. But this role demanded that sacrifice. I knew I couldn’t fake it. I had to live it. I had to become Yogi, not just act like him.”His decision has been praised across the industry as a rare example of an actor fully surrendering to character.



Directed by Ravindra Gautam and produced by Ritu Mengiunder the Samrat Cinematics banner, Ajey is a gripping biographical drama inspired by Shantanu Gupta’s bestselling book The Monk Who Became Chief Minister. The screenplay is penned by Dilip Jha and Priyank Dubey, with music composed by Meet Bros and cinematography by Vishnu Rao.
The ensemble cast includes Paresh Rawal, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Pavan Malhotra, Garima Vikrant Singh, Rajesh Khattar, and others. The film traces Yogi Adityanath’s spiritual journey from Ajay Singh Bisht of Uttarakhand to one of India’s most influential political leaders.
